I’m not sure where to start. This episode seems to be a little on the over-edited side. I’m not sure everyone got the best cut, after all, a story arc has to be told. But no matter, let’s address the heart of it:

Now that’s what I call an introductory episode: awesome challenges, light on the gimmickry and solid editing. To be fair though, the elimination challenge was still in the style of Top Caterer. I guess you can’t change the nature of the beast.

Nothing but nothing signals the advent of the new Top Chef season like Skillet Doux’s Power Rankings.
In my opinion, Skillet Doux’s coverage of Top Chef is unparalleled. An episode isn’t truly finished until I get a little autopsy action from them.
